It includes a letter that the Wyoming defense lawyer wrote to a friend who had urged that he withdraw from the Weaver case.

I later joined Spence on another book tour and hope that he will join me on the tour of this book. My time with Spence has in many ways made me not just the lawyer I am, but the person I am. I lecture often to lawyers and law students. Every speech is inspired by Spence’s teaching. The writing of this book is inspired by Spence’s teaching.
Gerry Spence is a trial lawyer in the United States. In 2008, he announced he would retire, at age 79, at the end of the Geoffrey Fieger trial in Detroit, MI. Spence did not lose a criminal case in the over 50 years he practiced law. He started his career as a prosecutor and later became a successful defense attorney for the insurance industry.
One of the better books Gerry Spence has written was his book Win Your Case. His advise is on target. here are a few points he makes in the book. Avoid sarcasm, scorn, and ridicule. Use humor cautiously. Hold back insult. No one admires the cynic, the scoffer, the mocker, the small, and the petty.
Other Famous Cases. After the Silkwood case, Spence tried a number of high-profile cases.He has not lost a civil case since 1969 and has never lost a criminal case with a trial by jury. He has had several of his more prominent civil verdicts overturned on appeal and lost a 1985 manslaughter case in a bench trial in Newport Oregon in December 1985, later prevailing on appeal.
